Camp
I feel its heartbeat in the rain
See its shadows beneath the trees
It is everything I am
I can’t find a word to explain it
It is a memory of things that have passed
A promise of things yet to come
It is reality fading into dreams
This place, this world, is part of me, and I am part of it
My soul is written across the sky here
And my spirit is carried by the wind
Every time my eyes see the stars
I know I could not survive without it
And I don’t know how anyone can
Limerick Fairytale
There once was a princess so fair
All the gentlemen begged for her hair
The witch got jealous
And for demise became zealous
Now from the tower the princess just stares
There once was a girl with skin white
Her stepmother was quite a fright
An apple was gifted
And consciousness lifted
Now the girl does not know day from night
A boy took a cow to be sold
He received beans instead of gold
While stalks he was finding
Others were dining
What a lovely steak dinner to behold!
I feel its heartbeat in the rain
